The US Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District is conducting market research in anticipation of a multi-billion dollar construction program related to the 2005 Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) initiative affecting San Antonio area military installations. To gather industry input and assess capability and capacity, they are hosting a free Industry Day Forum on August 15, 2006, at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio, TX. This event aims to explore alternative approaches for executing the program, which focuses primarily on medical-related facility construction, including hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, research labs, and supporting infrastructure such as barracks, training facilities, and physical fitness centers. Activities will encompass new construction, renovations, and demolition over a four-year period. All interested parties, including contractors of all sizes, industry organizations, and associations, are encouraged to participate and complete a provided questionnaire by August 30, 2006. The program seeks involvement across several NAICS codes related to building construction, heavy and civil engineering, specialty trades, and professional services to ensure broad engagement. Detailed information and materials, including a presentation and questionnaire, are available on the USACE Fort Worth District’s website. Registration is highly recommended for those attending the Industry Day to facilitate planning and interaction. This outreach demonstrates the government’s commitment to partnering with capable industry participants to successfully execute this extensive and multifaceted construction effort.
