The US Army Corps of Engineers Fort Worth District is conducting market research in preparation for a significant multi-billion dollar construction program tied to the Base Realignment and Closure 2005 initiative, focusing on San Antonio area military installations. To gather industry input and assess market capability and capacity for executing this extensive four-year program, an Industry Day Forum will be held on August 15, 2006, at the Henry B. Gonzales Convention Center in San Antonio. The event is free and open to all interested parties, including contractors, industry organizations, and associations, with a strong emphasis on capturing a wide range of perspectives from both large and small businesses across relevant construction and professional service sectors. The construction program primarily involves medical-related facilities such as hospitals, clinics, surgical centers, and research labs, as well as supporting structures like barracks, medical training facilities, garages, youth centers, fire stations, vehicle maintenance, and physical fitness centers. Projects will include new construction, renovations, and demolitions, spanning various NAICS codes covering building construction, heavy and civil engineering, specialty trades, and professional and technical services. Participants are encouraged to register for the Industry Day and complete a market research questionnaire available on the Fort Worth District Contracting Division’s website by August 30, 2006, to help the government determine the best approach for program execution.
