Information Security Technology (IST) Equipment Disposal

El Paso Independent School District (EPISD), the largest district in El Paso County and one of Texas’s largest, is soliciting proposals for vendors to purchase and properly dispose of its surplus electronic and computer equipment. The goal is to minimize environmental impact and maximize the value of surplus assets. Equipment eligible for disposal includes desktop computers, servers, laptops with peripherals, tablets, scanners, printers, charging carts, document cameras, and other technology-related parts and supplies. The contractor must use environmentally responsible disposal techniques such as degaussing, digital wiping, and physical destruction to eliminate any risk of liability for EPISD. Vendors will also help facilitate revenue recognition to offset disposal costs for the district. The duration of the contract is one year initially, with the potential for up to three additional one-year renewals based on satisfactory performance. Work will be performed at various EPISD locations. Bidders are required to comply with Texas Education Code Chapter 22 regarding criminal history record background checks for any employees who may have direct contact with students, at the vendor’s own expense. Proof of insurance as outlined in the solicitation is mandatory. The estimated contract value ranges from $500,000 to $2,000,000. Proposals are due by May 21, 2025.
