INFRA Grants

The INFRA Grants program, identified by solicitation number NSMFHP-26-INFRA, is a competitive federal funding opportunity administered by the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Office of the Under Secretary for Policy, offering approximately $626.7 million in surface transportation infrastructure funding for projects of national or regional significance. This total includes $319.8 million from FY 2023 INFRA funds, $106.9 million from FY 2024 INFRA funds, and $200 million from FY 2026 INFRA Commercial Motor Vehicle Parking funds, allocated across two distinct tracks. Track 1 supports broad surface transportation projects focused on improving safety, efficiency, and reliability of freight and passenger movement, while Track 2 is exclusively reserved for commercial motor vehicle parking projects. Applicants must select one track and may submit only one application; multiple submissions will result in only the first being considered. The program is governed by Title 23 of the U.S. Code and operates as a reimbursable grant with funding released only after execution of a grant agreement, incurrence of allowable expenses, and submission of valid reimbursement requests. Pre-award costs are ineligible unless specifically authorized in writing. Projects must comply with the Buy America and Build America, Buy America requirements, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and all applicable federal laws, including the Constitution and Executive Order 14173 regarding DEI initiatives. Applicants must be registered in SAM with a valid UEI and maintain current registration throughout the award period, and those with active federal awards exceeding $10 million must maintain up-to-date integrity and performance data in FAPIS.
