The Department of Housing and Urban Development intends to award a sole source contract to HP Enterprise Services LLC for nationwide infrastructure vendor managed services. This contract covers a period from August 1, 2014, through July 31, 2017, consisting of a base year and two option years, with the final year dedicated to transition. HPES will provide comprehensive IT support through its Contractor Owned and Contractor Operated data centers, managing approximately 176 applications, 450 Terabytes of data storage, disaster recovery for 35 applications, and wireless services for over 1,600 mobile devices. The scope of work includes a wide array of technical services such as hardware and software support, database management, enterprise engineering, telecommunications, security, and LAN/WAN administration. HUD has determined that HPES is the only viable supplier due to the critical need for Certification and Accreditation and Authorization to Operate by July 31, 2014. The agency concluded that transitioning these complex department-level IT services to another provider would cause an unacceptable lapse in infrastructure, disrupting public services and negatively impacting the national housing market.

HUD'smanaged service environment requires the incumbent to furnish all personnel, materials, equipment, software, facilities, telecommunications and related services to deliver nationwide enterprise information technology, in support of HUD's objectives and responsibilities under Federal Legislation and Executive Orders. The contractor hosts approximately 176 applications, providing more than 450 Terabytes of data storage, Disaster Recovery for 35 applications, and wireless services to more than 1600 mobile devises.
