Only one firm fixed price award will be made as a result of this solicitation. Delivery to Bethesda, Maryland 20892 approximately 120 days after receipt of award. The Vaccine Research Center (VRC) is upgrading and improving the VRC's vivarium animal housing capabilities in the animal facility with DVC housing racks. The monitoring and alerting system required has the ability of alerting staff when animals have decreased activity, feed/water levels low, and when new liter of mice is born. This caging systems is to aid staff in completing their duties more effectively which in turn will aid the researchers with their science and studies. It is imperative that decreased health and activity status is identified as soon as possible so study endpoints can be met, and samples can be taken in a timely matter. Timing is also imperative pertaining to the birthing of transgenic mice and downstream work that is required neonatal studies and /or fostering of the mice. The DVC is manufactured by Tecniplast USA. They have the extensive knowledgeable and expertise tech support team for installing and training of the DVC. The statutory authority for this sole source requirement is 41 U.S.C. 253 (c) (1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1 only one source available, no substitutions possible. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS.
