Alachua County Board of County Commissioners intends to award a single source contract to Solar Impact, Inc. for the de-installation and re-installation of a photovoltaic (PV) system on the roof of the county's headquarters library. The work involves removing the existing solar panels, roof attachment clamps, and solar racking to facilitate roof replacement, then reinstalling these components onto the new roof and reconnecting them to the existing inverters. This procurement is justified by the fact that Solar Impact has been responsible for installing and maintaining the PV system since February 2012, with the system's ownership transferring to the Alachua County Library District at the end of the current contract in February 2032. The contract is set to be posted on June 11, 2024, with a response deadline of July 3, 2024. The project is estimated to cost between $50,000 and $150,000. The procurement process is being conducted under the NAICS code 921120, and the project is managed by the Alachua County Library District, based in California.
