The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division, intends to modify the existing firm-fixed-price, supply-type contract N00164-06-C-4879, awarded to NAMMO AS, Raufoss, Norway on 01 Sep 2006 for the production and delivery of up to an additional quantity of 51,840 each MK 285 MOD 0 40mm high velocity ammunition cartridges. This contract action will be conducted on a sole-source basis in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This contract action will procure 51,840 each MK 285 MOD 0 40mm high velocity ammunition cartridges capable of being fired from the 40mm MK 47 MOD 0 Weapon System (specifically the MK47 MOD 0 40mm machine gun). The basis for restricting competition is the proprietary rights of NAMMO AS and the duplicative costs to the Government to utilize another source to satisfy the Governments requirement.
