Intent to negotiate sole source modification to AAV contract No. M67854-09-C-6006

The Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) intends to negotiate a sole source modification to existing contract No. M67854-09-C-6006 with BAE Systems, Land and Armaments LP, Ground Systems (BAE), York, for the Assault Amphibian Vehicle (AAV). This modification will increase the contract level of effort for man-hours required to incorporate continued development of lifecycle sustainment and potential capability upgrade Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), and limited production for the implementation of ECPs. The total estimated value of the proposed contract modification is for $6.334M. The authority for other than full and open competition is pursuant to 10 USC 2304(c)(1), implemented by FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(iii), as BAE is the incumbent sustainment contractor, and original equipment manufacturer. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals and no RFP is available for this action. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement by notifying the MARCORSYSCOM POC in writing. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A written response must include evidence of the respondents' ability to support the proposed requirement provided in an E-mail to the MARCORSYSCOM point of contact, Mrs. Monica Hurui, (contact@example.gov) not later than 1400 (2:00 p.m. EST) November 4, 2009. Any responses received will be considered by the Government and reviewed/evaluated for the sole purpose of determining whether or not to compete this requirement on a full and open basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
