Full Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground Natick Contracting Division has a requirement for Annual Maintenance and Calibration on SDL Atlas LLC equipment. The Government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Harris Weathering Products, Inc., a Small Business located in West Falmouth MA under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) Soliciting from a single source, only one source reasonably available. The U.S. Army Warfigher Protection and Aerial Delivery Directorate (WARPAD) is required to use commercial test methods, such as the American Association of Textile Chemists & Colorist (AATCC), when testing military and commercial fabrics and other related items. SDL Atlas equipment was previously purchased to perform such certified testing. The SDL equipment must be properly maintained and calibrated to maintain ISO certification. Harris Weather Products, Inc. is the sole Northeast distributor for SDL equipment and is the only local company that can service/repair the equipment to ensure proper operation. Use of a different contractor would increase the cost to the Government for the equipment maintenance and would void the existing warranty. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811310. The Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code is 7699 and the Small Business Size Standard is $7.0M. This is a Small Business Set-Aside. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by the agency. One or more of the items under this acquisition is subject to Free Trade Agreements. The Government anticipates awarding one (1) Firm Fixed Price contract. All questions must be directed to Ms. Yvette Daltorio, Procurement Specialist, via email at contact@example.gov. The closing date of this notice is 27 July 2012.
