Provide all labor, supervision, and materials to inspect, clean, test, and recalibrate fire and smoke dampers throughout the entire VAMC, Birmingham, Alabama. There are 645 fire dampers and 120 smoke dampers. Contractor will be required to: Locate and operate all dampers in the facility, removing and resetting the fusible link, to verify the damper fully closes. Replace fusible links that are compromised. Replacement links shall be per National Fire Protection Association (NFPA). Code. The latch, if provided, shall be checked, and moving parts shall be lubricated as necessary. Mark the location of the fire, smoke and combination fire/smoke dampers on the facilitys drawings. Each damper shall be identified by a unique number. An identification sticker shall be affixed to the building structure (ceiling, wall or floor) indicating the location of the respective damper. Digitally document before and after conditions of every damper with digital pictures. Contract will run from date of award and completed within 60 days.
