AI Contract Overview

The contract concerns the procurement of 20 units of a specific item identified as NSN 7R-5826-014782375-QF, with technical data package version 001, to be delivered FOB origin to Rockwell Collins Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. This contract action involves repair or modification of a direction finder and is designated as a sole-source negotiation, meaning the government intends to award without full competition due to the flight-critical nature of the item and the lack of sufficient data to allow acquisition from sources other than the currently approved supplier. Potential new suppliers can express interest and submit quotes, but they must adhere to stringent source approval requirements outlined by the Naval Inventory Control Point (NAVICP), including submitting detailed technical data in accordance with the relevant source approval brochures. Offers lacking this data or evidence of ongoing approval process will not be considered. Because the item is flight-critical and requires Government source approval prior to contract award, the government may proceed with the award based on the currently approved source if new source approval cannot be completed in time to meet operational needs. This ensures uninterrupted supply and support aligned with fleet requirements. The solicitation is being managed by the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support office located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, under the solicitation number N0038311PG128, and was posted in July 2011. Interested parties are directed to the official contracting website for further information, but this notice is not a request for competitive quotes.
