This contract involves the repair, modification, and servicing of various weapon system components, including those related to DEGAUSSING, AEGIS, and Teletype systems, under the Basic Ordering Agreement N0010411GA301 for the fiscal year 2014. BAE Systems in Austin, Texas, is the sole source capable of providing complete repair services due to its exclusive possession of the necessary repair capabilities, data, and drawings, which are not available from the Government. The items scheduled for restoration include power amplifiers, power racks, data processing terminals, and unit bridge controls, among others. Government source approval is required before awarding the contract, emphasizing the mission-critical nature of the items and the lack of sufficient technical data to enable competition. The contract emphasizes that only the government-approved source, BAE Systems, has been solicited due to the time-consuming process necessary to approve any new sources, which would delay the award. The solicitation falls under the NAICS code 334290 and is managed by the Navsup Weapon Systems Support office within the Department of Defense, located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. For detailed inquiries or a full list of items, Larry Strohecker is the point of contact. This arrangement ensures timely maintenance and readiness of critical weapon system components essential for defense operations.
