It is the National Energy Technology Laboratory?s (NETL) intent to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Xradia Inc. to provide a one year preventive maintenance agreement for the M5000 x-ray CT scanner manufactured by Xradia Inc. This is considered a sole source to because they are the only company that can service and repair this equipment. In order to assure continued reliable and satisfactory operation of the manufacturer?s equipment, this maintenance agreement must be obtained from the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). If anyone other than the original vendor were to perform maintenance or repairs on this machine, it would void the warranty. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation which shall be considered by this agency. Firms who want to challenge the sole source must submit an interest letter that demonstrates the firm?s ability to provide the services or work described above. Interested parties must provide rationale as to why they should be considered. Interested parties shall provide sufficient technical literature, documents, etc., in order for the Government evaluation team to make an adequate technical assessment of the quote as meeting technical acceptability.
