The contract involves the procurement of five units of a power supply (NSN 7H-6120-015505011, TDP VER 001) intended for repair or modification purposes. Delivery terms specify FOB origin, with the items to be issued to General Dynamics Information Technology in Needham, Massachusetts. This is a sole-source procurement, meaning the government intends to negotiate exclusively with one supplier due to the lack of sufficient, accurate, or legible data to purchase the part from any other source. Although this notice is not a request for competitive quotes, interested parties may express their interest or submit quotes prior to the award date, which the government may consider when deciding whether to pursue competitive procurement. The contract was posted in August 2010 under solicitation number N0010410PDH18 by the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. It falls under the Department of Defense and is categorized as a presolicitation notice without any set-aside designation or specified NAICS code. The government emphasizes that any determination to forego competition is at its sole discretion and that information received will primarily serve to evaluate the feasibility of conducting a competitive procurement. The lack of alternative sources reflects specialized requirements for the power supply unit needed.
