The Social Security Administration conducted a streamlined competitive sourcing study under OMB Circular A-76 to evaluate the provision of locksmith services at its Central Office in Baltimore, Maryland. The competition ran from July 1 to August 19, 2005, involving one full-time government employee currently providing these services. The study aimed to determine the lowest cost provider for these activities. Following the evaluation, the agency decided that the government itself would continue to perform the locksmith services, as it was determined to be the low-cost provider. This announcement clarifies that no solicitation will be issued as a result of this study. The notice serves only as a formal statement of the performance decision and does not commit the government to any future solicitations related to this activity. For questions or comments, interested parties are directed to contact the designated Contract Specialist via email, as phone inquiries will not be entertained. The key contacts for this process included the Commissioner of SSA, Jo Anne B. Barnhart, the Contracting Officer, Randy Pickwell, and the Authorizing Technical Official, Steve Aprile.
