The contract involves the procurement of 21 centrifugal pump units, identified by NSN 7H-4320-003683186 and version TDP VER 003, for delivery FOB origin to Crane Pumps & Systems Inc. in Piqua, Ohio. The Government intends to negotiate exclusively with a single source for these supplies or services, indicating a non-competitive procurement process. While interested parties may express their capability or submit quotes before the award date, the Government retains discretion on whether to pursue competition based on the responses received. The decision to limit competition is supported by an assessment that the cost of establishing a competitive procurement would exceed the projected savings over the pump unit’s lifespan. This contract falls under the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support Mech office, located in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. It is designated as a presolicitation with no set-aside type or specific NAICS code mentioned. The acquisition focuses on the repair or modification of centrifugal pump units, reflecting a specialized and potentially sole-source need, supporting the agency's operational requirements efficiently without pursuing a competitive bidding process.
