AI Contract Overview

This contract involves the acquisition of 17 units of a specific radio receiver component (NSN 7R-5826-009941578-FZ) intended for repair or modification, with delivery terms FOB Origin to Rockwell Collins in Atlanta, Georgia. The Government intends to negotiate exclusively with a single approved source, as the item is flight critical and requires strict Government source approval due to limited technical data and prior qualification constraints. The contract is not open for competitive bidding, but potential suppliers who are not currently approved may submit information or documentation according to NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support’s Source Approval Information Brochures to demonstrate their capability. The Government’s decision to limit competition is based on the criticality of the item and the time constraints associated with qualifying new sources. Offers must include all required data to be considered, and failure to provide the necessary information will result in disqualification. If source approval cannot be obtained in time, procurement will proceed with the existing approved suppliers to meet operational needs. This action is managed by the Department of Defense’s Navsup Weapon Systems Support office in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and is intended to maintain fleet support and readiness for critical systems.
