Notice of Intent to Sole Source
The U.S. Department of the Interior, Joint Administrative Operations, on behalf of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Jag Marine, Seward, Alaska, for dry-dock and shipyard services for the R/V Tiglax.
The requirement includes dry docking the vessel, inspection access, rudder repair-related painting, and associated shipyard services in Seward, Alaska.
Competition is restricted because Jag Marine is the only known shipyard within a reasonable distance capable of hauling out and dry docking the R/V Tiglax and available during the required performance period. Use of other capable shipyards would require significant additional vessel transit, fuel, crew time, and cost.
