Full Description

This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(1) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order, and is not a request for competitive proposals. The statutory authority for this sole-source procurement is 6.302-1. The U.S. Army Contracting Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Contracting Division has a requirement for an annual maintenance agreement for an FEI XL-30 ESUM Electron Microscope (with four option years). NCD intends to issue a firm fixed price purchase order to FEI Company, 5350 N.E. Dawson Creek Dr., Hillsboro, OR 97124. As the manufacturer of the XL30 Electron Microscope, FEI is uniquely qualified to supply the technical expertise to maintain the microscope. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this buy is 811219. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination not to complete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
