Additional work includes demolition of existing asphalt and curbs, asphalt paving, pavement markings, chain link fencing, and corrections to sidewalk deficiencies near Building 651. All work must comply with the VA Barrier Free Design Standard, the National Electrical Code, and the detailed technical specifications package including general requirements, safety protocols, quality control procedures, and construction waste management guidelines. Site-specific documentation such as maps, mockups, photos, and construction details must be followed precisely. All contractor personnel must adhere to strict site safety and health requirements, including the designation of a Safety and Health Manager and a Competent Person per OSHA standards, submission of an Accident Prevention Plan 15 days before the preconstruction safety conference, and mandatory safety briefings covering site hazards and VA protocols.
