The Department of Veterans Affairs Network Contracting Office 9 plans to award a firm-fixed price contract to Belimed, Inc. for the procurement and maintenance of Belimed Sterile Processing Service (SPS) equipment at the Tennessee Valley Healthcare System Medical Center in Nashville. This sole source contract is justified under FAR 6.303-2, citing the necessity for compatibility with existing Belimed equipment already in use, which includes various sterilizers, washers, boilers, and carts. The contract covers preventive and emergency maintenance, chamber cleanings, water analysis testing, and technical service training, with all equipment located on the Nashville VA campus. Training costs will encompass tuition, lodging, and airfare. A wellness check on some equipment will determine their inclusion in the contract. The anticipated contract start date is around July 11, 2023, with a performance period of one base year plus four option years. The procurement falls under NAICS code 339113, with a small business size standard of 750 employees. Although this is a notice of intent and not a solicitation for offers, the agency invites responsible sources to submit capability statements by February 15, 2023, to demonstrate their ability to provide the contract services. The government will use these submissions solely to decide whether to pursue a competitive procurement, reserving the discretion not to compete. Questions or capability statements must be directed via email to the designated Contracting Officer, Lori Ellis.
