The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, plans to award a sole source firm-fixed price contract to Stryker Corporation for preventative and corrective maintenance services on Stryker beds and stretchers at the Durham Veterans Affairs Medical Center. This contract will have a base period of one year with two one-year option periods. The decision for sole source contracting is based on the fact that Stryker is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for the specified hospital bed and stretcher models, and only Stryker can provide the necessary OEM parts and proprietary diagnostic and repair tools. The maintenance services are critical for ensuring continued healthcare capacity within the Veterans Affairs system. The Government has determined through market research that these services are only available from Stryker without causing unacceptable delays or added costs due to duplication. The contract is expected to be awarded around October 29, 2021. No competitive solicitation is being issued; however, firms interested in demonstrating their capability to meet the requirements may contact the designated Contracting Officer within seven calendar days of the announcement. The synopsis is for informational purposes and not a solicitation, and any submitted proprietary data will not be reimbursed. The maintenance requirements cover specific Stryker bed models FL28-GoBed and 5700-Spirit Select, as well as stretcher models 1005-SM104 and 1125-Prime Zoom, ensuring all parts and repairs remain compatible and consistent with original manufacturer standards.

J025--NEW CART MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR
Solicitation # 36C24627Q0057
Solicitation 36C24627Q0057 was issued by the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 6, for a base year plus four option year service contract to provide preventive maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair services for government-owned golf carts and utility vehicles at the Hampton VA Medical Center in Hampton, Virginia. The intended scope of work included tire rotations, battery water level checks, lubrication of friction areas, and general repairs with a not-to-exceed value of 125,000 for parts and labor not covered in the regular maintenance cycle. The contract was designated as a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set-aside and required the contractor to provide all necessary personnel, tools, and transportation for vehicle pickup and delivery. However, via Amendment 0003, the Government has canceled this solicitation in its entirety. This decision followed a review of clarification requests from vendors, which revealed that the Performance Work Statement required substantive revisions regarding the scope of services, equipment specifications, contractor responsibilities, and pricing requirements. Consequently, no award will be made under this solicitation to ensure that any future procurement is based on a clearly defined and consistent set of requirements. Interested vendors are encouraged to monitor SAM.gov for a potentially revised solicitation.
