JOFOC Notice - KBA-NotaSys

The Bureau of Engraving and Printing (BEP) located in Washington, DC and Fort Worth, Texas manufactures US currency bank notes. Currently the BEP has a requirement for "Plate Making Specialist for trouble shooting" which includes 2 specialists to perform an expert analysis over four days at the Washington DC facility. The only vendor able to provide this service is KBA-NotaSys. As such the BEP will make a sole source acquisition with KBA-NotaSys for this activity. The services provided by KBA shall include: trouble shoot and remedy the recent intaglio plate crack incidents. The experts shall perform and analysis and review of the BEP's plate making process and the process for mounting the plates. KBA-NotaSys is the integrator and manufacturer of the BEP's intaglio plate making system and the super orlof press. Only KBA-NotaSys is able to provide this service due to the complexity of the integration of the system and the press equipment. KBA-NotaSys has exclusive knowledge to interoperation, tank chemistry, and electro-mechanical press parameter. As such KBA-NotaSys is the only company able to provide service, maintenance, control-logic, and advanced troubleshooting for this equipment.
