JRE 4G System

The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) has issued a sole-source procurement under solicitation N6893625F5076 for the Joint Range Extension (JRE) 4G System, manufactured by SAIC. With a total estimated value of $430,715.00, the contract focuses on expanding Link-16 tactical data link coverage over the Point Mugu Sea Range, specifically within the W283 and W285 areas. The scope of work includes the acquisition of two JRE 4G chassis, two software enhancement packages (JSEP), one semi-rugged JRE 4G system in a transit case, and 12 months of help desk support. These upgrades are intended to replace aging JRE 3G and Crystal systems, ensuring critical External Time Reference (ETR) capability and seamless interoperability with E-2D aircraft and other military installations. This acquisition is justified under FAR 8.405-6(b) as a limited source procurement because SAIC is the sole manufacturer capable of meeting the classified message processing and integration requirements without extensive custom development. Performance will primarily take place at China Lake and Point Mugu, California. The contract requires the contractor to handle classified Secret-level Link-16 messages, necessitating appropriate security clearances. Delivery for hardware is expected within 190 days after receipt of order, with the support services extending for one year following the initial delivery.
