This contract is a basic ordering agreement (BOA) between the Department of Defense, specifically NAVICP, and Rolls Royce Naval Marine for the procurement of modification kits, parts, accessories, tools, and special support equipment related to Allison 501-K34 and 501-K17 engines. The BOA, effective from June 1, 2009, to May 31, 2010, serves as a framework for issuing individual orders under a set pre-solicitation synopsis. Orders above $25,000 will be publicly synopsized according to federal acquisition regulations, ensuring transparency and compliance. The agreement operates under 10 USC(C)(1) authority due to the Government’s lack of necessary data to competitively source these items. Prospective suppliers interested in providing alternative products must adhere to specific NAVICP solicitation language designated as LA27LN. The Department of Defense office managing this contract is Navsup Weapon Systems Support in Mechanicsburg, PA. This BOA streamlines the acquisition of critical engine-related components and support equipment, facilitating efficient and timely procurement for naval operations.
