Full Description

The Broadcasting Board of Governors/International Broadcasting Bureau (BBG/IBB), Office of Contracts, Simplified Acquisitions Branch (M/CON/SA) intends to solicit, negotiate, and award a sole source Purchase Order on a non-competitive basis with Miteq located at 100 Davids Drive, Hauppauge, NY. The NAICS Code is 334290. The statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition that is applicable to this procurement is FAR Subpart 6.302-1 41 U.S.C. 253 (1), Only one source and no other supplies or services would satisfy the Agency requirement. The BBG/IBB will procure six Ka-Band 17.3 to 18.4 GHz Up Converters with 70 MHz Input +/- 20 MHz meeting or exceeding the technical specifications for the Miteq U-9857-2-1K Up Converter. This Notice of intent is not a request for competitive price quotations or proposals. Interested parties shall submit: (1) product data sheets demonstrating equivalency with the Miteq U-9857-2-1K Upconverter and (2) unit pricing to the Contracting Officer at Broadcasting Board of Governors, Office of Contracts (M/CON), Switzer Building, Room 4300, 330 "C" Street, SW, Washington, DC 20237 by 3:00 p.m. Local Time, July 31, 2008. Contractors may make submittals by either regular US mail or courier. Telephone responses, e-mail, or facsimile responses ARE NOT acceptable and WILL NOT be considered. The Government must receive all such statements of interest and capabilities by 3PM EST, Thursday, July 31, 2008 and shall reference RFQ No. CON-08-4910-01 to be considered. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this Notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Any information received from interested firms/persons responding to this notice will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
