The contract involves maintenance work on the KC130J aircraft, specifically BuNo 168071, which is currently located in North Carolina and experiencing a defect in a discharge valve affecting cabin pressurization. Due to this issue, the aircraft is restricted from extended flights over water, limiting its operational capability. To address this, the contract authorizes the use of Cascade, the only Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility within range that holds a MAC award and can provide the necessary services at the required quality standards. This procurement aims to restore the full flight capability of BuNo 168071 by having Cascade perform the programmed maintenance inspection (PMI) at their facility located in Ottawa, Ontario. The contract is managed by the Navsup Fleet Logistics Center Yokosuka under the Department of Defense, with points of contact provided for coordination. The contract was posted on April 30, 2026, and facilitates timely restoration of the aircraft’s operational status to ensure readiness for unrestricted flight operations.

The subject aircraft, BuNo 168071currently in North Carolina, has an incoming defect on a discharge valve,
affecting cabin pressurization, placing the aircraft in a restricted flight status, where the aircraft is not authorized
for extended flights over water. As a result of the aircraft flight restriction and considering the aircraft location,
the most appropriate course of action is to utilize Cascade. Cascade is the only MAC awardee with a contract
approved facility within range of the aircraft and is capable of providing the required services at the necessary
quality level. This procurement is to restore the full flight capability of BuNo 168071 by having Cascade perform
the PMI at the Cascade facility.
