The City of Kent has issued an invitation for sealed bids to construct the KEHOC Warehouse and Office Building, a project estimated at $32 million. Bids are due by 10:00 AM on February 27, 2024, and must be submitted at the City Hall clerk’s window, clearly marked with the project details. The project involves building a new approximately 83,000-square-foot facility on a roughly 10-acre developed site within a 22-acre area, with existing rough grading and underground utilities. The construction includes site improvements and the integration of a premanufactured metal building supplied by Corona Steel, which will be a subcontractor to the general contractor. The project is located at the intersection of SE 248th Street and 124th Avenue SE in Kent, Washington, and aims to allow ongoing operations of City Public Works and Parks during construction. Bid documents, prepared by Wagner Architects, are available for download in PDF format from the City’s procurement website starting January 31, 2024. These documents include detailed plans and specifications that bidders must follow. The bid opening will be held publicly at 10:00 AM on February 27, 2024, with proposals recorded and secured until then. The project requires a comprehensive general contractor to provide all labor, materials, and incidentals necessary for the construction, with the schedule coordinated to ensure timely delivery of the PEMB and site development. Interested parties can access additional information and submit questions through the City’s official procurement portal.
