Knox Boxes

NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The 673d Contracting Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson ABW, Alaska intends to award a sole source purchase order to The Knox Company as a result of them having proprietary information on the key and lock specifications of key storage boxes currently being utilized throughout the installation. This equipment contains locks and keys which are specifically cut for JBER Fire and Emergancy Services and is not available from any other manufacturer. This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 13.501. The anticipated award date is 14 February 2011. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the product/services listed above. Deadline date for the submittals is 11 February 2011 at 4pm Alaska Standard Time. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Please see attached documents for details.
