Full Description

Lac La Biche County invites proposals from qualified multidisciplinary consulting teams to prepare a statutory Area Structure Plan (ASP) for the Lac La Biche Energy Zone and undertake the associated planning, engineering, environmental, regulatory, engagement and implementation work required to position the area for consideration by the Government of Alberta as a Designated Industrial Zone (DIZ). The County is seeking a consultant capable of going beyond preparation of a conventional Area Structure Plan. The successful consultant will be expected to integrate municipal statutory planning with the requirements of Alberta’s Designated Industrial Zone framework and provide the County with a clear, evidence-based pathway from initial planning through provincial DIZ consideration and long-term implementation. The project is intended to establish the Lac La Biche Energy Zone as a provincially significant, investment ready location for large-scale energy, petrochemical, resource processing, underground storage, transportation, utilities and related value-added industrial development
