The Town of Apple Valley is overseeing two distinct development projects in California. The first involves the conversion of 0.702 acres of undeveloped land into a 2,303 square-foot single-family residence featuring a 662 square-foot attached garage, a sewer system, a retention basin, and two concrete driveway entrances. This project is authorized under Incidental Take Permit No. 1927-ITP-2025-015-06 from the California Department of Fish and Wildlife, allowing for the incidental take of three western Joshua trees protected under the Western Joshua Tree Conservation Act and the California Endangered Species Act. The second project, the Watson High Desert Logistics Center, involves the development of approximately 200 acres across two non-contiguous sites. This industrial project includes the construction of three speculative warehouse buildings totaling roughly 3.73 million square feet, along with site infrastructure, utility installation, and the remediation of off-highway vehicle trails. This development is aligned with the North Apple Valley Industrial Specific Plan and has been approved following an Addendum to the 2009 General Plan Environmental Impact Report. Both projects are governed by the California Environmental Quality Act and local CEQA guidelines, with administrative oversight provided by the Town of Apple Valley Planning Commission.
