Landfill Chipping & Grinding Brush, Non-Treated C&D, Green Waste & Wood Waste Services

The City of Watsonville Public Works and Utilities Department is soliciting proposals for on-call chipping and grinding services at its city-owned landfill to process brush, green waste, wood waste, and non-treated construction and demolition waste. This initiative is designed to ensure compliance with SB 1383 requirements by converting organic materials into wood chips and mulch. Services are typically required twice per year, and the landfill is permitted to store up to 500 tons of organic material. The resulting three-year contract will be awarded to the most qualified firm based on the RFP criteria. Bidders must provide pricing options for services both with and without the hauling of finished materials off-site, as the City maintains ownership rights to the resulting mulch and chips. Interested parties must submit their responses by September 1, 2026.
