The Larch Creek Trail Restoration and Construction project, managed by the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, involves extensive work across approximately 20,444 meters of trail within the Pasayten Wilderness. The scope includes significant restoration of existing trails, ditching, and turnpikes, alongside the construction of new grade dips, culverts, and waterbars. Due to the project's location in a protected wilderness area, the use of motorized or mechanical equipment is strictly prohibited, and all wilderness regulations apply.
Specialized requirements include the use of Washington State certified blasters with commercial drivers licenses for explosive transport and strict limitations on pack animals, which are restricted to drop camps and must be fed commercial weed-free pellets. The project follows Forest Service Standard Specifications and Drawings EM-7720-103 and EM-7720-104. The government estimate for the work is between 25,000 and 100,000 dollars.
