The NAVSUP Fleet Logistic Center San Diego plans to issue a sole source purchase order to Freeman Marine Equipment Inc. for the removal and replacement of two engine hatches on Landing Craft Air Cushion (LCAC) vessels used by Assault Craft Unit Five. These replacement hatches must conform to Freeman Marine Equipment’s proprietary specification 990-217500, making the purchase exclusive to this manufacturer due to the specialized nature of the equipment. The contract will proceed under the authority of FAR 6.302, allowing negotiation with only one source, and is not open for competitive quotes. The intended procurement aligns with NAICS code 336611, with a business size standard of 1,000 employees. Interested parties are invited to submit information demonstrating their capability to meet the requirement by August 4, 2014, though the Government will generally use this to decide whether to pursue a competitive procurement or proceed with the sole source award. Submission details must include company identifiers such as CAGE Code, DUNS number, and Tax ID. The Government’s point of contact for this acquisition is Joel E. Judy, reachable via the provided email and telephone number. If no suitable responses are received, the contract will be awarded directly to Freeman Marine Equipment.
