Background: As part of a U.S. Government inter-agency process, the U.S. Department of Commerce has been providing technical assistance (Capacity Building in Commercial Law) to the judiciaries of several Arab countries. The Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), an entity of the Department of Commerce specializing in technical assistance, manages programs and shares expertise with other USG agencies. CLDP's technical assistance to the judiciaries of several Arab countries is expanding. The present Statement of Work describes the work to be performed by a Contractor in support of CLDP's expanding activities under the program. Through the present contract, the Contractor will assist CLDP in interfacing with the Iraqi Ministry of Justice, the Higher Judicial Council, and the Judicial Training Institute to help organize and run seminars and workshops for Iraqi judges and lawyers. The Contractor may be asked to interface with judicial bodies of other Arab countries as well.
