The CBSA requires rental services of a firearms range facility in Lethbridge, Alberta in order to provide armed CBSA officers with firearms training, as per prescribed standard policies. The following range criteria are required to be provided by the Contractor: The Contractor’s firing range facility must meet the following specifications: • An on-site washroom or port-a-potty is required. • Facility must be in the province of Alberta within a 120 kilometers radius of the Coutts Port of Entry or within 50 kilometers of the City of Lethbridge, AB. • Range must allow for discharge of lead 9mm (9 X 19) Calibre 147 Grain Jacketed Hollow Point Ammunition and 9mm (9X19) Calibre 147 Grain Reduced Hazard (Lead Free) Full Metal Jacket Encapsulated Lead Core Ammunition, use of silhouette targets, protective vests and duty holsters. • Firing range must have a minimum of 4 lanes with a shooting distance of 25 meters from the firing line to the target stand not including bullet traps. The 25 meter distance should be unobstructed from standing and kneeling positions. • Parking must be available sufficient to accommodate all CBSA personnel. • Minimum 54 sq ft on-site storage container for training related equipment is required. • Range must allow for use of barricades and prone shooting positions. • Range allows for passage of instructors behind firing line (minimum 2 meter depth to back wall). • Range must allow lateral movement, parallel to the back-stop as well as movement at approximately a 45 degree angle to the back-stop. • Range must meet the requirements set out in the CBSA’s Guideline on the Use of Shooting Ranges.
