Literacy Coaching -

The contract seeks to deliver professional development, technical assistance, and coaching support to a selected group of public and charter schools in the District of Columbia to implement the OSSE walkthrough structured literacy tool. The focus is on strengthening literacy instruction through targeted, data-driven strategies aligned with each school’s literacy plan. Providers will work directly with educators to build capacity in using the literacy walkthrough tool effectively, ensuring alignment with evidence-based practices and helping schools leverage data to assess the impact of their instructional supports. Efforts will center on improving educator skills in delivering structured literacy, fostering consistent implementation across classrooms, and using performance metrics to guide continuous improvement. The support is designed to be ongoing and tailored, with an emphasis on practical, on-the-ground coaching that empowers school teams to sustain literacy gains over time. The initiative is led by the Office of the State Superintendent of Education and is intended to enhance literacy outcomes district-wide through strategic, scalable interventions grounded in data and professional development.
