Loara High School Track & Field Project

The Anaheim Union High School District is initiating the Loara High School Track and Field Project located at 1765 West Cerritos Ave, Anaheim, California. This project involves a comprehensive upgrade and reorientation of the existing athletic facilities, moving the track and field to the eastern portion of the site and rotating it 90 degrees to run parallel to South Euclid Street. The scope of work includes replacing the natural turf football and soccer field with new synthetic turf and striping, replacing the decomposed granite track with an all-weather synthetic track, and installing new field lighting, a scoreboard, and bleachers with approximately 900 seats. Additional infrastructure improvements include the installation of modular restrooms, a new stormwater management system for infiltration, and the extension of the campus PA system to the field. The project also encompasses concrete paving and fencing for path of travel improvements and utility infrastructure for a future sound system. Construction is expected to take place over a 12-month period between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the fourth quarter of 2027. The project has been granted a Notice of Exemption from further environmental review under CEQA guidelines as it consists of minor replacements and additions that do not increase student capacity.
