Long-Range Lineup System (LRLS)

The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, NJ, is conducting market research through a sources-sought Request for Information (RFI) under solicitation N6833526R0522. The government is seeking industry partners capable of designing, manufacturing, and integrating a Long-Range Lineup System (LRLS), a precision optical landing aid for carrier aircraft recovery. The LRLS must utilize low-divergence, eye-safe lasers to provide a color-coded visual path, featuring aviation yellow for the centerline, red for port deviation, and green for starboard deviation, with a progressive flashing indicator for lateral drift. The system is intended to operate as a dual-axis visual alignment suite in conjunction with the Improved Fresnel Lens Optical Landing System (IFLOFS). Technical requirements include night vision compatibility, shipboard stabilization, and integration with inertial navigation systems. All hardware must comply with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 standards for shipboard environments. Interested vendors are requested to submit a PDF white paper detailing their technical approach, compliance history, manufacturing timelines for a first-article prototype, and rough order of magnitude pricing for unit and life-cycle maintenance costs.
