The Department of Water Resources’ (DWR) Shag Slough Bridge Removal geotechnical exploration activities will consist of collecting one (1) discreet soil sample from each of four (4) predetermined boring locations (S1 through S4) on either side of the Shag Slough Bridge that is set to be demolished. Borings S1 and S3 will be advanced to 10 feet below ground surface (bgs) and Boring S2 and S4 will be advanced to 2 feet bgs. Each boring will be advanced using hand equipment consisting of a 2.5-inch hand auger.
