Los Cerritos Channel At Bixby Hill Retaining Wall Repair

Bid #WD-11-26: The project involves the repair and reconstruction of an existing retaining wall along the Los Cerritos Channel at Bixby Hill. The scope includes demolition of deteriorated sections of the existing Concrete Masonry Unit (CMU) retaining wall, removal of existing trees, and disposal of interfering portions of the existing foundation and pool equipment. New construction will involve the installation of 24-inch diameter by 20-foot embedded piles, a 30-inch by 30-inch grade beam, and a new CMU wall, including a 5-foot tall free-standing wall. The project also requires backfill and compaction, site restoration, and other necessary work to complete the project as described in the Contract Drawings and Specifications. The work site is on private property parallel to the Long Beach Bikeway Route 10. Access to the site will not be through private residences. The project is subject to a City-wide Project Labor Agreement and prevailing wage laws.
