Lot 25 ARC Gateway Transportation Safety Improvements

The Lot 25 ARC Gateway Transportation Safety Improvements project aims to enhance safety and traffic flow for the University of California, Davis campus community by reconfiguring transportation patterns around Parking Lot 25. Current east-west parking aisle layouts will be supplemented with a new central north-south aisle to better organize vehicle movement and reduce conflict zones where pedestrians, micromobility users, and vehicles intersect near Orchard Road and Segundo Dining Commons. The project includes significant changes to the intersection of Orchard Road, Blue Ridge Road, and La Rue Road through updated traffic signals, and introduces a new pedestrian sidewalk along the north side of Orchard Road. Tabletop crossings will be installed to provide safer, marked pathways for people traveling between Segundo Dining Commons, the ARC, and Lot 25. The scope also encompasses new landscaping, irrigation systems, lighting, pavement, and signage, with minor electrical upgrades such as the installation of five new pedestrian lights and the relocation of four existing ones. All work is designed to improve accessibility, reduce congestion, and create a more orderly and secure environment for campus users. The project is being managed by the University of California, Davis through its Campus and Environmental Planning office, with Heather Davis as the primary point of contact, and the work will be performed in Davis, California, with a posted forecast date of September 2, 2025.
