Lowe Rd Bridge Replacement

The Schoharie County Department of Public Works has issued a solicitation for the replacement of the Lowe Road Bridge over West Creek in the Town of Seward, NY. This Federal Aid Project, identified by PIN 9755.55 and Contract Number LD040944, involves the installation of a new steel truss superstructure supported by concrete abutments, full-depth pavement reconstruction, and the installation of steel four-rail bridge rails and heavy stone fill. The project limits extend approximately 253 feet before and 218 feet after the bridge, and work will be conducted while traffic is maintained via an offsite detour. As a federal project, it requires strict adherence to NYSDOT Standard Specifications, prevailing wage rates, and federal nondiscrimination regulations under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act and related Department of Transportation statutes. This is a unit price bid solicitation with a one-year contract term. Bids must be submitted in a sealed envelope clearly labeled with the project PIN and must be received by the Schoharie County Highway Department no later than 10:00 AM on October 7, 2026. Each bid must include a security deposit of at least five percent of the bid amount, along with completed Bid Forms, Non-Collusive Bidding and Disbarment Certifications, and Lobbying Certifications. The successful bidder and all subcontractors are required to have an approved CCA-2 on file with the NYSDOT prior to award and must furnish performance and payment bonds totaling 100% of the accepted bid.
