The kit is packaged in a multi-compartment tray and commercial sealed container to ensure sterility, protection from damage, and safe delivery, complying with medical marking standards (MMS No. 1) and packaging requirements. The item is identified by NSN 6515-01-707-0814 and is purchased in cases containing ten kits each. The lumbar puncture kit holds a non-extendable 36-month shelf life, with no more than five months elapsed from manufacturing to delivery, and must be clearly labeled with manufacturer and expiration dates, lot numbers, and contract identifiers in accordance with the latest medical shelf life marking practices.
