The Defense Supply Center Philadelphia (DSCP) is organizing an Industry Day conference focused on the Wood Products Program, specifically relating to lumber, plywood, and related wood products within Federal Stock Classes 5510, 5530, and 5520. Scheduled for May 20, 2008, the event aims to gather industry feedback on a draft Statement of Work for a Wood Products Supply Chain Management Program. This program supports both continental U.S. and overseas customers by striving to reduce cycle times, secure competitive commercial pricing, enhance oversight, decrease administrative burdens, and improve customer satisfaction—allowing customers to focus on their core activities. This Industry Day serves as a preliminary engagement prior to a potential formal Request for Proposal. The conference will be held at the Four Points by Sheraton Philadelphia Northeast and runs from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM EST. Interested parties are encouraged to register by providing their organization name, address, and primary contact information via email to designated points of contact within DSCP. It is important to note that this Industry Day does not constitute a government commitment to procure goods or services, nor will any travel expenses be reimbursed. The event follows a prior Request for Information issued in February 2008 and seeks to foster supplier collaboration in shaping the future acquisition approach for wood product supply chain management.
