Lynn Trucking Inc.

Kern County has granted a Conditional Use Permit and Zone Variance to Lynn Trucking Inc. for the development of a comprehensive travel center located at the northwest corner of Interstate 5 and Stockdale Highway. The project is situated within a Highway Commercial - Precise Development Combining District and includes the construction of a 60-room hotel, an 8,548-square-foot convenience store with a drive-through restaurant, and two multi-use buildings featuring 2,178 square feet of fast-food restaurant space with drive-throughs and 5,220 square feet of retail space. Additional facilities include seven diesel fuel truck pumps, 16 vehicle fuel pumps, a two-tunnel truck wash, and a truck repair facility. As part of the approval, a Zone Variance was granted to allow for a 75-foot-tall pole sign with a 560-square-foot face area, exceeding the standard 35-foot height and 240-square-foot area limits. The project was reviewed under the California Environmental Quality Act, resulting in a Mitigated Negative Declaration. This determination confirms that the project will not significantly affect the environment, provided that the specified mitigation measures are implemented as conditions of approval.
