AI Contract Overview
The contract specifies the procurement of a portable magnetic inspection unit under solicitation SPE4A5-26-T-310F, with item P/N 628556 and NSN 6635-01-117-7746, to be furnished as a commercial off-the-shelf item in a quantity of one kilogram unit. The item has a non-extendable shelf life of 60 months from the date of manufacture, designated as a Type I (Code S) requirement, and must comply with all applicable DLA packaging standards including MIL-STD-2073-1E and MIL-STD-129 for marking, which includes special handling code 05 indicating it is a delicate instrument. Packaging must adhere to DLA’s procurement requirements and include appropriate containment and labeling, with delivery required FOB origin to the DDSP New Cumberland facility in Pennsylvania, with a 169-day delivery schedule ending January 21, 2027. Inspection and acceptance occur at destination, with zero tolerance for non-conformances under sampling protocols dictated by MIL-STD-1916 or comparable zero-based plans unless otherwise defined. The item is subject to mercury restrictions, prohibiting intentional addition or direct contact except for specific exempted applications such as functional components in instruments or sensors as permitted by NAVSEA, and requires a secondary containment barrier for any permitted mercury-containing elements. Technical and quality requirements are governed by the DLA Master List of Technical and Quality Requirements referenced by applicable R or I numbers. The unit is not required to be uniquely identified under DFARS due to service customer election, and transportation logistics follow DLAD procedural notes C19 and C20. All supplies must remove government identification if not accepted, and the contract includes provisions for defense information handling and compliance with federal procurement rules.
