Full Description

The Centers for Disease Control and prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Life Technologies Corporation, 5791 Van Allen Way, Carlsbad, CA 92008-7321. This is for maintenance on the following equipment for a base year and one option year: 7500 FAST DX Service for S/N #275011737, SN #275011736, SN #275011740, SN #275011741, SN #275010279, SN #275030052, SN #275012163, SN #275030362. Only Life Technologies can maintain and perform service on instruments manufactured and sold by Life Technolgies within the 2 business day time frame acceptable to the BRRAT Laboratory. No other vendor has trained personnel with appropriate knowledge and skills to work on Life Technologies instrumentation to satisfactorily meet the laboratory's need. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 (for actions over $150k) 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received by 03/10/14 will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
