The Hitachi S-4800 Scanning Electron Microscope is a specialized instrument requiring manufacturer-specific maintenance, technical expertise, parts, and components. The Government requires maintenance services that are compatible with the equipment and capable of maintaining the instrument in proper operating condition. The objectives of the maintenance agreement are as follows:
1. Parts and Components:

Preventive maintenance shall include, as applicable, cleaning; replacement of vacuum oils, seals, filters, and hoses; inspection and servicing of air and water lines; adjustment of systems; and alignment of columns.
4. Parts and Labor:
All parts and labor required to perform the covered maintenance and repair services shall be included in the maintenance agreement.
This notice is not a request for competitive quotations. Hitachi Microscopy is the intended source for this requirement. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed acquisition based upon responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
It is anticipated that an award will be issued approximately five (5) calendar days after the closing date of this notice, unless the Government determines that another vendor has the capability to meet this requirement.
